Anushree Reddy collection at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive

I have a thing for florals and all things bling and Anushree Reddy weaves them beautifully into traditional Indian wear, the reason why I always look forward to her show at Fashion weeks.

The 2016 edition of Lakme Fashion week Winter/Festive is currently on Anushree Reddy unveiled her all new collection titled 'The Wedding Chronicle'. Bridal couture from Reddy is always feminine with abundance of florals and this time again she does the same but with more vibrant colours. Tangy red, fuchsia pinks and summery yellows in raw silk with intricate zardosi and a wee bit of geometric patterns is what Anushree reddy offers in her latest collection which she says is aimed at the contemporary confident bride.

Bollywood actresses as show stoppers is a norm with Anushree Reddy and many actresses like Ileana, Shruti Hasan and Nargis Fakhre have walked ramp for her and this time around it was the gorgeous Shilpa Shetty setting ramp on fire in a pink and gold lehenga.

Lets have a look into my favourites from the 'The Wedding Chronicle' collection:

Floral lehenga with golden trim lace and one shouldered blouse is an absolute beauty and brings in vintage vibes. This Lehenga is ideal for a mehendi or sangeet and you can go dupatta less with this look.

This lehenga jacket with full sleeves is perfect for winter weddings. The hi low detail on floral jacket, tie up on bust and embellished lehenga is a perfect choice for sangeets and sister of bride or groom. 

Long Floral Kurta paired with pink net lehenga is an absolute elegant beauty. The light pink net dupatta completes the look nicely. 

Pastel blue silk lehenga with pink net dupatta, a hint of cheery yellow and lots of gold sequins. Dreamy wedding guest look.

Floral one shoulder blouse with silk lehenga perfect for sister of bride. 

Fiery red lehenga choli on show stopper Shilpa Shetty beautifully flaunts her curves. Adding a pink dupatta is nice balance but this look isnt my favourite. You need a good body to wear this outfit or go for a different blouse.  The vibrant red means this is more for brides , wear it for your engagement or even your wedding with a heavier second gold dupatta if you want to keep things minimal.

Off shouldered floral jacket blouse with floral lehenga. That much print bcan be over whelming but here it works nicely. 

Cheery raw silk yellow lehenga for wedding guests

Love the mix of colours in this lehenga, something different. This is a good one for mehendi, haldi or sangeet. The dupatta drape is different but I wouldnt try it on weddings.

The collection has a lot of ensembles for both winter and summer weddings and I love how most of these outfits dont require a dupatta. If you want a fuss free sangeet look dont look elsewhere.

Favs - Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016

2016 is now 2 fashion weeks old, the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016 and Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer. It isn't fair to compare an autumn edition to spring fashion week edition but  amazon India Fashion week really a bummer, nothing much interested me but with Lakme Fashion week , I had plenty of favourite ensembles.

I have already done a detailed post on Manish Malhotras collection Here i present to you my absolute favourites

From the house of Garo i like this front slit anarkali with printed pants. Between the semi embellished bodice, printed flare and pants , the splash of mint there is a lot going with this outfit, a very busy look but it can be a winner if styled with nude make up simple hair and zero accesories.

Rohit bal closed lakme Fashion week with a grand Finale show, I dint like much from his collection but this midnight blue anarkali caught my eye. The sleeves are weird though, not a fan of them .

This Payal khandwala lehenga is breezy and fun , perfect for summer. I love how it is paired with a turtle neck white blouse.

Fringe is a trend which i love when paired with ethnic wear and this I am design saree does it right without coming across as immature or tacky. The drape is also convenient and modernized.

Lalit Dalmia is a designer Iam not too familiar with and this Asymmetrical dress is sheer beauty. Love everything about it, the colour, the intricate work and the hemline .

Fun and feminine from Anushree Reddy this outfit is something I would wear in a heart beat, too bad i dont have a flat tummy

 Gaurang is an expert with silk sarees but dress, is Ah-Mazing.

Front slit kurtas are quite a trend this season and this striped number paired with relaxed pants  from Anupama bose is something I would love to wear

Farah sanjana has everything going right in this aqua outfit of hers. The cuts, the jacket, the blue splash and styling.

Trend Talk: Cape Jumpsuits from Ridhi Mehra

Ridhi Mehras designs  have an amazing blend of contemporary and traditional and her delicate florals always have me drooling. At Lakme Fashion week winter festive Ridhi showcased her collection titled Prism which had a varied silhouettes and colors but what caught my interest the most was Ridhis twist to the jumpsuits. Most of her jumpsuits had a cape element in them with almost floor length sleeves. Ridhis trademark floral embellishments were ofcourse a common element in all her creations.

Here are favorites from the collection


The floor length sleeves with floral detailing makes this very unique chic jumpsuit. Athiya shetty was spotted in this creation during promotions of her movie Hero



This jumpsuit has peplum kind of asymmetrical detailing which i totally love. Fuss free look to rock this season



This jumpsuit with floor length cape sleeves can be a cool outfit to flaunt at a wedding. Great way to stand out without coming across as trying too hard

LFW S/R 2015 - Anushree Reddy sticks to Florals and Cheery Colours

I have always been a fan of Anushree Reddy's floral, girly and chic designs and at Lakme fashion week summer/Resort 2015, hers was the collection  i was most looking forward to. ( Catch my post on her last collection here )

Showcasing a wedding collection titled  "The Royal Courtyard"  Anushree reddy delighted with her vibrant colour pallet , breezy fabrics and embroidered hemlines. Frankly the collection, especially those floral lehengas werent anything new or fresh but who cares when there is so much fun and girly elements incorporated. Here i present to you my absolute favorites.  

Illeana D cruz the show stopper for the show walked in a dreamy leheriya pink lehenga featuring chand bali motifs. Love how this whole look comes together with the sequined blouse and peach dupatta. Perfect for brides for sangeet or engagement.  This is also a great option for brides sister .

My top favourite from the collection. Mint silk, floral dupatta and pink come together beautifully. Love the lehenga.  

Anarkali  lehenga with signature floral prints. Dreamy this.

Kanika Kapoor who performed live for the show wore a gorgeous ice blue lehenga and floral printed blouse. Love this look .

Raw silk, embroidery, Cheery Yellow. Perfect for  guests at a summer wedding .  

Heavily embellished white and pink lehenga . I love this look the most but too bad it is white and not many wear white at weddings. 

high neck blouse with white lehenga. Love the work on lehenga and the yellow makes for great colour to the look.


Love how lime and mint green come together here



Sheer floral tops.



Nothing new here , but can you ever get enough of  princessy florals. Kudos for using dark skinned models.
 

Signature appliques with semi sheer sequined blouse. Those key latkans, drool!


I think this collection is perfect for young brides wanting to keep it light and flowy.

Surendri at LFW Summer/Resort 2015 : Ethnic wear gets a trendy Twist

Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary Showcased amazing ethnic wear collection at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week resort 2015. The collection which was titled Mithu has a lot of tropical elements with delightful splash of colour. The collection also featured a lot of bird motifs on shararas, lehengas, sarees and dresses.

Yogesh Choudary has done a fabulous job at reinventing Ethnic indian wear . I particularly loved the silhouettes and the drapes, the sheer shararas are drool worthy, lusting over them!.

This collection is refreshing and will suit modern brides who want to keep it chic and fuss free. This collection is also perfect for wedding guests

For brides who want to keep it bling free. Those parrot motifs will make a statement.

Love Everything from this look, the colour, the silhouette , the waist belt. just pure love.
